The saying by Mark Twain is realistic in terms of Intellectual Property Rights as these are the exclusive rights given to innovators over the use of their valuable creation for a time period of 20 years. This exclusive right can be acquired through a timely and genuine decision of patenting of innovations. Creativity and innovation are essential in the growth and development of any knowledge economy. There is an abundance of creative and innovative energies flowing in India. India and especially Gujarat has a large talent pool of scientific and technological talent spread over R&D institutions, enterprises, universities and technical institutes. There is a need to tap this fertile knowledge resource and stimulate the creation of IP assets.
To fulfill the mission of the nation about the concept of “IPPP: Innovate, Produce, Patent and Prosper”, Drs Kiran and Pallavi Patel Global University, Vadodara is highly dedicated to harness the creative potential of minds by protecting their valuable innovations by the hedge of IP rights. The University runs a well established IPR cell with in-house Registered Patent Agent of Indian Patent Office along with attorneys and IPR advisors. The IPR Cell provide mentoring and funding support to student and faculty innovators for patent filing and patent prosecution and also for IP Commercialization.
The University has filed and prosecuted various patent applications for innovations of students and faculty innovators.
